Thai Education Visa

If you’re planning to stay in Thailand long term you may be eligible for an education visa. This is a great opportunity for you to learn the Thai language, integrate into Thai society, learn about the culture and help you settle into life in Thailand. The friendly team of professionals at Lanna Language can support your education visa requirements through one of our programs.

First you will register with Lanna Language School.  We will prepare the application documents and submit them to the ministry of education.  This process takes 4-6 weeks.  Once we have approval from the ministry, we will apply with the immigration department for your one-year visa.  [NOTE: before COVID, education visa students had to apply outside of Thailand.

Currently, applications are processed inside Thailand, but that remains subject to change.]  Approximately 21 days after your application is submitted, we will get approval and you can begin learning Thai.  While valid for one year, the education is structured as four 90-day visas.  Each 90 days, you will need to extend at Chiang Mai immigration.
